The Backstory
Lindsay and I have worked together multiple times over the past five years. Initially, I helped her create branding and sales pages for her teacher-focused business. As her goals evolved, I also supported her in building a business centered around helping women create passive income streams.
In 2024, Lindsay reached out again, this time with the challenge of combining these two distinct brands under one roof. She knew there was significant crossover between her audiences—teachers and women building digital businesses—but she struggled to tell an overarching story that unified both sides. Her website also needed to reflect this new focus, with a fresh look and a streamlined system that supported both her programs and digital resources.

Phase 1: Objectives + Strategy
Lindsay's main challenge was managing two businesses and repeating similar tasks across both brands. She knew she could speak to both audiences well, but needed a cohesive platform to streamline her message and boost growth.
Additionally, her existing website was outdated. While her programs had new sales pages and effective funnels, her main website and brand needed a major refresh.

Phase 2: Website Design
One of the key focuses of the website redesign was understanding how to segment Lindsay’s diverse audience without overwhelming them. Both teachers and online business owners needed clear pathways to find the right resources. Instead of simply dividing users by profession, we focused on their end goals: creating teacher resources, online courses or memberships, and digital products. This segmentation led users directly to valuable, free resources that aligned with their journey, reducing confusion and boosting engagement.
We started with a brand strategy refresh, remapping Lindsay’s story and aligning the visuals with her archetype. Using heat mapping technology and user behavior research, we identified key areas to improve and structured the new website around user goals. Once the wireframes were approved, I integrated the new art and photography into the mockups, keeping Lindsay’s audience and business goals at the forefront of the design.
Phase 3: Development + Hand-off
For Lindsay’s public-facing website, we stayed on WordPress to maintain her existing SEO clout. I partnered with a developer to ensure seamless integration of her e-commerce functions, blog, and podcast show notes. Her program sales pages and courses were hosted on Kajabi, a platform that’s perfect for Lindsay’s stage in business. By bringing in creative collaborators, we were able to ensure the final product not only looked polished but functioned beautifully across platforms.
The Results
Lindsay’s new website saw tremendous success after its August 2024 launch. Prior to that, she was averaging around 7,300 visitors per month. In August, she received 14,777 visitors, marking a 102% increase in traffic. By September, that number had grown to 47,768 visitors, a 554% increase from her pre-launch average. With the website now fully optimized, it made space for one of Lindsay's blog posts to go viral, driving even more traffic. This massive boost is a testament to the power of cohesive branding and a streamlined user journey that lets great content shine and work for your business.
Now, Lindsay’s business operates on autopilot. Her audience is funneled directly into free training tools that match their goals, while her email funnels handle the program selling. With everything under one roof, Lindsay can now focus on scaling her business and marketing strategies without the overwhelm.
